Now it has a lower, flat top. In the 1980s, the area lost its old Edwardian promenade when the A55 Expressway bypassed it. Penmaenmawr is famous for its mountain and coastal walks.

These lures are particularly useful for sinking lines. For dry flies, sedges and CDCs are the most popular. To fish, you need a valid fishing license from the Environment Agency.

You can only fly fish and can’t use spinners, bait, or feed to attract fish. Use barbless hooks. The management will conduct random checks.

If possible, avoid touching fish. If you must, make sure your hands are wet. Keep fish in water, not on land. If a fish is bleeding, inform the authority, and don’t put it back in the water.

If you mishandle the fish and cause damage, the authority will charge you £3.50 per pound for certain types. These include Rainbows, Browns, Tigers, and Doubles.

Please do not take the fish out of the water for trophy photos. If you mishandle fish, the staff will ask you to leave, and you won’t receive a refund.

If you take more fish than agreed, you must leave right away. If you want to take more fish, inform the staff, and they can adjust the ticket price.

Anglers should clean up their trash, like fishing lines and cigarette butts. The Lodge has bins for this. An adult must always supervise children while fishing.

Do not use floating bait or sinking lines. Please do not leave your fishing line unattended without a rod. Avoid using jelly-style or tandem flies. Snakes should only have one hook.

You can only use single hooks, no doubles or trebles. Your leader needs to be at least 8 lbs. Before leaving, all anglers have to report what they caught.
